ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

It is a daunting task to prepare an acknowledgement for a document of this nature and The British and European Geranium Society is acutely aware of the invaluable assistance offered by Libraries of all descriptions, Institutions, specialist Societies, nurserymen and hybridisers, particularly in helping us to compile publication dates and numerous cultivar names. To you all we offer our most sincere thanks for your time, effort and patience in providing us with the information we have requested.

We are also most grateful for the research done by many authors of published works on the Pelargonium and Geranium that we have used for reference material. Detailed credits have been given at the appropriate entries in the List.

Tribute is also paid to the contributions made by the following dedicated people and organisations—for their painstaking work and freely given time. Without their considerable input, the List would not have been taken to this advanced level. I advisedly hesitate to use the word “completion” because it is an ongoing work—like so many things in this modern world, it is out of date as soon as it is published and our accepted responsibility is that it will always need what we hope will be a biennial updating. Particular thanks go to: --

The Council of the Australian Geranium Society for their initial work on “TheCheck List and Register of Pelargonium Cultivar Names”—Parts One and Two.
Mr. Robert Hall FBEGS for gathering and collating the majority of the text.
Miss Cathy Holgate FBEGS for the mammoth task of several proof readings and her other editorial work.
Messrs. Scott and Allister MacGregor and John Gray of Largs Printers Ltd. for their invaluable help in setting out the text, design recommendations and printing.
Mrs. Mary Spink FBEGS for completing “The Pelargonium” with her technical assistance in cultivar information, and for reviewing the various proofs.
Mrs. Mary Spink FBEGS for the beautiful photographs that make the cover so colourful, and Mrs. Linda Lusby for hers of “ Catriona”.
The Sponsors and those who have made generous donations without whose contributions and financial support this work would have remained unprinted:
The Stanley Smith (UK) Horticultural Trust
The Australian Geranium Society
British and European Geranium Society, North East Midlands Group
Cramden Nurseries
Swanland Nurseries Ltd

To you all we offer our grateful thanks and, having had time to digest the detailed content of these pages, hope you feel that your support has been worthwhile.

Derek Lusby FBEGS
